So this is how you use the manual exposure settings
How much light enters the camera
1.4 / 2.0 / 2.8 / 4 / 5.6 / 8 / 16 / 22 / 32
How fast your shutter opens and closes (in [fractions of] seconds)
1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1,000
How sensitive your camera is to light*
*A higher ISO means higher grain
Let's say you get a reading of 1/4 shutter speed at F 8.0 and ISO 200. If you want to increase the shutter speed, you either have to increase the ISO or aperture to compensate. Let's say you want to stay at ISO 200, but want to increase the shutter speed to 1/30 (the minimum suggested shutter speed for handheld photography). Going by the chart above, 1/30 is 3 stops faster than 1/4. To compensate, reduce your F-stop by 3 stops (F 2.8). Now that's kind of
